Old Man Emu BP-51 shock absorbers bring racing-inspired technology to everyday driving and off-road adventures. Featuring a 51 mm internal bore and patent-pending bypass technology, they are designed to deliver a combination of on-road comfort and off-road control.
Developed and extensively tested under Australia’s harshest conditions, these position-sensitive bypass shock absorbers feature remote reservoirs and are designed to bolt onto the vehicle without modifications. They provide a comfortable ride around town while delivering increased end-zone damping for improved chassis control and handling off road.
The damping performance can be adjusted across a broad range of rebound and compression settings. With 10 levels of compression adjustment and 10 levels of rebound adjustment, the ride can be tuned to suit different conditions and vehicle setups.
The shock absorber body, reservoir and components are manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminum with Type 3, 40-micron hard anodizing. This construction provides heat dissipation, corrosion resistance and resistance to stone damage. The BP-51 shock absorbers are developed, tested and manufactured in-house to maintain control over the production process and support consistently high quality.
