Old Man Emu BP-51 shock absorbers bring racing-inspired technology to everyday driving and off-road adventures. Featuring a 51 mm bypass bore, these position- and velocity-sensitive shock absorbers use patent-pending technology to deliver performance in both on- and off-road conditions.
Developed and extensively tested in Australia under harsh conditions, the BP-51 combines a large internal bore with bypass technology and a remote reservoir. The design provides comfortable ride quality around town while delivering increased end-zone damping for improved chassis control and handling off road.
Damping performance can be adjusted across a broad range of rebound and compression settings. With 10 levels of compression adjustment and 10 levels of rebound adjustment, the shock absorbers can be tuned to suit different conditions and vehicle setups.
The body, reservoir and components are manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminum with Type 3 40-micron hard anodizing. This construction provides effective heat dissipation, corrosion resistance and resistance to stone damage. The remote reservoir increases oil capacity and helps maintain a lower temperature for consistent performance.
The fully assembled coilover includes a preload-adjustable collar, allowing up to 3 inches of lift regardless of front-end weight.
*Designed to bolt onto the vehicle without vehicle modifications.
