The ICON Vehicle Dynamics S2 Secondary Shock System upgrades the off-road capability of the 2016–2023 Toyota Tacoma by allowing the installation of a secondary 2.5" aluminum shock to an existing ICON coilover setup. Adding a secondary shock effectively doubles the suspension's damping capacity for rough terrain and larger obstacles, improving both off-road performance and on-road stability. The secondary shocks offer vehicle-specific valving, multiple damping zones, and 28 compression and rebound settings for precise ride tuning. The modular design allows incremental upgrades and provides a cost-effective alternative to complex long-travel kits.
The system utilizes the factory lower control arms and maintains OE track width. A combination of billet aluminum shock tower adapters, fabricated shock hoops, and steel skid plates with integrated shock mounts delivers straightforward installation without major alterations to the vehicle frame or other factory suspension components. Components are fully removable, and the skid plates can be installed standalone to protect the factory lower control arms from trail damage.
