The ICON Vehicle Dynamics S2 Secondary Shock System upgrades the suspension of the 2016–2023 Toyota Tacoma by allowing installation of a secondary 2.5 Aluminum Series shock alongside an existing ICON coilover. Adding a secondary shock effectively doubles damping capacity, improving off-road performance over rough terrain and large obstacles while remaining a more affordable and less complex alternative to long-travel kits.
The system uses factory lower control arms and preserves OE track width. Precision billet aluminum shock tower adapters, fabricated shock hoops, and steel skid plates with integrated shock mounts create a mostly bolt-on installation that avoids major frame modifications. All components are removable, and the skid plates can be installed standalone to protect the factory lower control arms from trail damage.
